Example: pricing 8,000 sq ft, 5× per week
At a production rate of 3,000 sq ft per hour with 2 restrooms, one visit takes about 3.2 labor hours. With a $17/hr wage, 20% payroll burden, 5% supplies, 15% overhead and a 20% margin, that is about $98 per visit or $2,111 per month. These are starting assumptions. Change any number above to match your market.
Bidding tips for office cleaning
- Walk the building before you bid. Cubicle farms clean much faster than private offices with lots of furniture.
- Ask how many employees use the space daily; headcount drives restroom and trash load more than square footage.
- Price periodic work (carpet extraction, floor stripping) as separate line items so the monthly number stays competitive.
Typical office cleaning scope of work
- Empty trash and recycling, replace liners
- Vacuum carpeted areas and entry mats
- Dust mop and damp mop hard floors
- Wipe desks, counters and high-touch points
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, restock paper and soap
- Clean break room sinks, counters, microwave exterior
- Spot clean entry glass and interior partitions
